Jacks is also a celebrated innovator and award-winning entrepreneur, having achieved national recognition
as winner of the prestigious Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award and international
recognition for business leadership through the Business Women’s Network and the Canadian Embassy, presented
in Washington, D.C. She was also recently invited to participate in the Profit W100 Idea Exchange featuring

In 1999, Evelyn Jacks was appointed by the Premier of Manitoba to be a Commissioner for the Lower Tax
Commission. The Commission report on proposals for the reform of the personal tax system for Manitoba was
released in 2000.
Currently she sits on the Board of Associates at the University of Manitoba and the membership committee of
the Manitoba Club. She is a past member of the Public Utilities Board of Manitoba, a past executive of The
Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce and is active with the United Way.
